Cauliflower steaks can be prepared in a variety of ways: grilled, pan-fried and oven-baked. In this recipe, we will coat the steaks in a dried spice sauce with lemon juice and Worcester sauce and bake them in the oven.
Prepare the sauce. Mix the zest and juice of half a lemon, add 1 tsp. each of granulated garlic, smoked paprika and dried onion. Pour in 30 ml olive oil, 5 ml Worcester sauce and salt with a pinch of salt. Stir.
Slice the cabbage into 3 cm thick steaks. For perfectly shaped steaks, use only the central part, where the florets are reinforced by the stem. To do this, cut 3 cm from each side and divide the central part in half. The sides can also be baked, it will be delicious, but the shape of the steak will most likely not hold and they will fall apart into florets at one stage.
Line a baking tray with baking paper, place the cauliflower, salt with a pinch of salt, and brush the sauce on top.
Bake for 35-40 minutes. For the last 5-10 minutes, you can turn on the grill to brown the tops more.
